Remove the caliper. Remove the manual hub cover (the part that engages the hub) by removing the small Allen head www.doorway.ru the big snap ring/"C" ring along the outer edge. Screw 2 of the Allen head locking hub bolts back in and use them to pull the lock out. Next is a large nut that has four indentations in it. Remove hub body assembly. If hub body does not come out easily, install 2 hub cap screws into hub body, and pull hub body out of hub. 4. On F with automatic locking hubs and on F Heavy-Duty and F with manual locking hubs, use Spanner Lock Nut Wrench (D85TA) to remove outer lock nut. NOTE: The rear wheel bearing inner cone and roller () is located behind the hub oil seal. A new hub seal must be installed each time the hub assembly is removed. If after hub removal, the hub seal or seal inner slinger remains on the spindle, remove it as shown. Inspect seal surface for scratches or damage.


Step 1 - Raise the vehicle and remove the wheel. Park the car and use a floor jack to lift the vehicle off of the ground. Under the axle beam, place the jack stands on both sides of the truck. Lower the jack and remove the front wheel lug nuts using a lug wrench counterclockwise. Take off the wheels and place the lug nuts and wheels in a safe place. There are two different styles of locking hubs. One is held on with a large snap ring that you can pinch with your hands. Once that's out you can pull the locking hub off. The other style bolts on with about 6 or 7 small allen or torx head bolts. Once you remove the bolts the hub pulls out also. Grasp the lockout portion of the hub firmly with your fingers. Wiggle the lockout portion up and down and back and forth, pulling it away from the hub to remove it. You may need a rubber mallet to help gently knock it loose.
